THE POPE'S SPEECH
(Were I to be his advisor and speechwriter)
----------------------
Madrid, 20 August 2011
Excerpt:
"True to the Life and Message of my Master, Jesus the Christ, I have ordered all costs of my visit to Spain to be paid from the Vatican Treasury.
I am hereby selling all of my palaces and will take up residence in Rome with Mother Teresa's Sisters of Charity. I will be wearing very simple clothing from now on, similar to that of my Lord, and will spend a quarter of each year serving in the world's most desperate slums. I will be especially dedicated to the absolute eradication of human slavery and child pornography.
The funds of the sale of my residences will be used to heal and educate the world's poorest children, and to tell them the Good News: that Jesus died and rose again from the dead to restore, pardon them and give them full, meaningful, joyous lives now, and eternal life as they follow Him in love.
The Vatican Museum will sell half of its treasures to private art collectors and donate the other half to museums around the globe. These funds will be used to find a cure for AIDS and to care for and educate AIDS orphans and their families.
I urge all those who call themselves Christians to seek an intimate relationship with their Lord Jesus, to know Him and love Him deeply, and to dedicate their lives to serving others in His Name."
