Ayer fue un día muy especial para todos los fans
de Whitney Houston, entre ellos, ¡yo!

Fue una celebración del poder de la gracia, del perdón y de la redención al verla cantar ante unas 4.000 personas en el Central Park. Sobre todo, cuando cantó "I Look to You" ("Miro hacia Ti"), la canción principal de su nuevo álbum, el primero en 7 años. Levantando sus manos hacia el cielo, durante algunos momentos apenas podía seguir por la sobrecarga de emociones que sintió.



Allí, junto a ella, su madre y también la hija de Whitney (ahora reconciliada con ella), ambas mujeres testigas de los tormentuosos años que amenazaban terminar con Whitney Houston, destruir su familia y robarnos de esa todavía maravillosa voz.

Una voz que ahora nos recuerda del poder de un Dios vivo y real, capaz de sacar al más destituido del pozo más profundo. Soy también testigo de esa gracia: Él hizo lo mismo para mi.

Yesterday was a special day for all of the fans
of Whitney Houston, myself among them!

It was a celebration of the power of grace, of forgiveness and of redemption, to see her sing before some 4,000 people in Central Park. Most especially when she sang "I Look to You", the lead song of her new album, the first in 7 years. Lifting her hands to heaven, during a few moments she could barely keep going due to the overload of emotions she was feeling.

There, along with her: her mother and also Whitney's daughter (now reconcilled with her), both women witnesses of the tormentous years that threatened to finish off Whitney Houston, destroy her family and rob us of that still marvelous voice.

A voice that reminds us of the power of a real and living God, capable of hauling anyone who is destitute out of the deepest well. I'm also a witness of that Grace: He did the same for me.
